From Omar, Co-Owner
“Most competitors refuse to post prices because it makes it easier to ‘work you’ at the kitchen table. I flipped that on its head — you get the real number here, in your pajamas at 10pm, before anybody knocks on your door. If another contractor tells you my Trane 5-ton quote is a ‘loss leader,’ ask them to write their number down and sign it. That's the test.”

Frequently Asked Questions About AC Replacement Cost
How much does a new AC system cost in Dallas-Fort Worth?
AC replacement in Farmers Branch, Coppell, Irving, Flower Mound, Lewisville, and Grapevine typically costs $7,500–$20,000+ depending on system size, type, and efficiency tier. Frosty's HVAC offers three tiers: Stay Cool (Goodman, 15 SEER2), Stay Frosty (Carrier, 18 SEER2), and It's A Frosty Life (Trane, 20+ SEER2). Use our free calculator above for your personalized price.
What size AC do I need for my home?
AC sizing depends on your home's square footage: under 1,500 sq ft typically needs a 2-ton system, 1,500–2,000 sq ft needs 2.5–3 tons, 2,000–2,500 sq ft needs 3–3.5 tons, 2,500–3,000 sq ft needs 4 tons, and 3,000+ sq ft needs 5 tons. Our calculator recommends the right size based on your home. A professional load calculation during the free in-home estimate confirms the perfect fit.
How long does AC installation take?
A standard AC replacement takes 4–8 hours for most homes. Frosty's HVAC handles everything in one visit: removal of the old system, installation of new equipment, electrical connections, refrigerant charging, city permit, and full system startup testing. We don't leave until every room is cooling properly.
What financing options are available?
Frosty's HVAC offers $0-down financing through GreenSky, Synchrony, and Optimus on approved credit. A 50% deposit is required at booking. We accept Zelle, credit cards, and debit cards — no checks. Monthly payments can be as low as $80/month depending on your system choice.
What's included in the installation?
Every Frosty's installation includes: new outdoor condenser, new indoor air handler/furnace, Frosty Thermostat (smart WiFi thermostat), new electrical whip and disconnect, overflow condensate shutoff, drain treatment, full R-32 refrigerant charge, city permit and inspection, 10-year manufacturer warranty registration, old system removal, and complete cleanup.
What's the difference between GOOD, BETTER, and BEST tiers?
Stay Cool (GOOD) features Goodman 15 SEER2 single-stage equipment with 1-year labor warranty. Stay Frosty (BETTER) upgrades to Carrier 18 SEER2 dual-stage with ductwork inspection and 5-year labor warranty. It's A Frosty Life (BEST) is our premium Trane 20+ SEER2 variable-speed system with full ductwork sealing, vibration isolation, and 10-year self-insured warranty.
Do I need to replace my furnace when I replace my AC?
In most cases, yes. Your outdoor AC condenser and indoor furnace/air handler work as a matched pair. Mixing old and new equipment reduces efficiency, can void the manufacturer warranty, and often causes premature failures. Frosty's always installs factory-matched systems for maximum performance and warranty coverage.
What refrigerant do new AC systems use?
New AC systems use R-32 or R-454B refrigerant, which are more environmentally friendly and energy efficient than the older R-410A. All Frosty's HVAC installations use modern R-32 refrigerant. We never install systems with discontinued or outdated refrigerants.
